Olympus Mons
Olympus Mons formed in late summer of 02 by Steven Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Edward Mason, and Denise Hobson in Lexington, Kentucky.  All had previously been in other unknown and short lived bands before moving to Lexington to go to college.  Bringing together a large variety of influences, they created a sound that could not honestly be classified as punk rock or hardcore.  In autumn/winter of 2002, they recorded a four song demo entitled "...in a rainstorm."  Since then, they have recorded a full length entitled "a battle of syntax" which shows their progression of the unorthodox mixture of punk rock, grind and various other elements.  In the summer of 2004, they added longtime friend Nicholas Marks, formerly of Lexington's Dawn Bleeds East. Known for a passionate live performance that can tug at the hearstrings of every person, they strive to show the all that see them and meet them that the teachings of Christ are not the narrow minded misconceptions that are so often seen; that there is always hope, and most importantly that to love all is one of the most important commandments.

"The philosophies of man have risen and fallen; tides of popular thought have come, will come, have gone, and will go. Is it any wonder that we choose to stand on that which is eternal, that which has served as a beacon through 6,000 years of human history? Come let us reason together... am I still not your brother? The "scene" and all of it's cliques, it's politics, only divide. Disagree if you must, but at least respect my right to dissent. And I shall defend, till death, your right to do the same."
